For e107 CMS system installation, you can find it on your Powweb control panel > InstallCentral > CMS > e107.
For novices who want to try install e107, here are the tips to setup admin area.
- In Preferences, set Admin Front Page style: admin_etalkers
- Then, Admin Front Page items are categorized into: Main Options, Users, Content, Communication, Files Management, Other tools, Plugin Management
- At Main options, stop cache system so that changes made in the site may be reflected properly. Then, update all other preferences to suit your needs. Now is design time, the FrontPage design with Menus.
- At this stage, design side is almost done except “logo.gif” and header images. At content, add welcome message, organize links, and make your first news item to display on the Front Page (default for FrontPage)
- Last step, you can add forum and upload your “logo.gif” and other images for the FrontPage by FTP.
Other tips for security purpose.
- Rename e107_admin folder to a random and a long name.
- Edit e107_config.php to set admin folder name.
- Set this files permission to 644.
- Prefer to hide “stats.php”, search.php” and “sitemap.php” (file permit to 600 and lastly, make sure to edit robot.txt and rename the folder names there. User-agent: Disallow:/those names/
- For all search engine robots(*) not to download files contained in those folders.
